Overview
The Purchasing Manager will manage the local buyers, demand planners, assistants and logistics associates. This includes grocery, COP and produce.
Responsibilities
Working knowledge of ERP operating System and Forecast planning systems.
Promotes and maintain a positive, professional environment.
Effectively promote career development for associates.
Shares and articulates the branch vision and goals, capable of long-term planning, facilitating the strategies and action steps needed to exceed expectations, both department and Branch-related.
Provides direction/alignment with Branch/Company goals.
Business planning/budgeting
Reviews, analyzes and implements supply chain efficiencies, including cost of goods improvement, logistics improvement, days on hand, terms and fill rates
Provides assistance with branch level merchandising events, including regional food shows
Prepares and analyses applicable reports
Provides advisory services to branch in regard to category plans
Provides excellent customer service
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (Business emphasis) preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Leadership skills, proven track record, integrity, competitive, team player, goal oriented, creative, ability to work with people (inter- department & cross functional)
Lead, coach, inspire, motivate, and monitor Associates progress in relationship to personal/professional goals
Capable of identifying quantifiable objectives, develop plans, motivate Associates, provide positive results
Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test
Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruption. Meet required deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written with all levels of associates. Interaction with staff and management required to obtain team/branch goals.
Analytical and attention to detail to maintain precise standards.
