Retail Sales Associate
Things From Another World, a speciality pop culture, collectibles and comics shop is hiring for a Retail Sales Associate! The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for being the face of our stores for customers who come in looking for comics or the latest pop culture goods.
They will handle transactions, ensure customers get help when needed, provide recommendations for products or items to purchase, and help grow fandoms.
Another key responsibility is assisting with store operations including but not limited to receiving new products, and maintaining the presentation of the sales floor, signage, and displays.
Ultimately, Retail Sales Associates ensure that customers leave our stores satisfied and have an enjoyable shopping experience.
This is a part position and staff are eligible for employee discounts and comps! Primary
Responsibilities:
Greet and direct customers to appropriate items Process transactions including operating the POS terminal and counting change Manage customer comic subscription boxes in-store Remain up to date on product, store events and policies, and provide accurate information to customers Answer customers' questions about specific products/events/releases Ensure that all displays are orderly, including merchandising and restocking Other duties as assigned Job Specifications (Preferred Requirements):
Knowledge of comics and/or pop culture in general, including some assortment of television, gaming, manga, anime, movies, etc.
Prior retail experience preferred High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Available to work at both Oregon store locations, and able to work occasional irregular shifts (including inventory, customer events, Free Comic Book Day, etc.
) Must enjoy working with the public Must have reliable transportation Well organized and able to handle multiple projects Efficient data entry and keyboard skills The ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) Ability to prioritize tasks when needed to maximize sales Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
